TeamBretMichaels.com / LifeRocksFoundation.org Story: Courtney Returns From Diabetes Summer Camp

Hello Bret, I am home from Camp Needlepoint and wanted to share a few pictures with you and tell you some of the things we did. The first thing we did when I got to camp was played a game to get to know each other. It was lots of fun because I had a new group of roomies this year that I did not know. We did archery, horseback riding, swimming, volleyball, tennis and had great bedtime snacks. I…

TeamBretMichaels.com / LifeRocksFoundation.org Story: Kelly celebrates her own and everyone’s birthday!

Two shoulder surgeries, a hysterectomy, and multiple other surgeries. Ever since I could remember I couldn’t wait to have a “Fabulous Forty” birthday party. I worked very hard to get there and now I was feeling more like a pity party. I knew I had to quickly change my attitude and be positive. I had three kids that needed me. Shortly after my diagnosis I had come across a sticky note on the Milwaukee Journal talking about a walk/run For Making Strides Against Breast Cancer that…

TeamBretMichaels.com / LifeRocksFoundation.org Story: Lauren’s positive attitude after returning from diabetes camp

Bret, I cannot thank you enough. There aren’t enough words to describe the gratitude we feel toward you for sending our daughter to diabetes camp. In the month before camp, Lauren (9 y o) was in what I call a “dark place about her having diabetes”. Many tears were shred about her denial or rejection of T1. She was diagnosed at 3 1/2 years old. She is in a school with no other T1’s . 360 days a year she stands out. The 5…
