My name is Keturah and I was diagnosed as a type 1 diabetic at the age of 3 and I am now 37. My road has been bumpy,but God is keeping me alive for some reason not yet known. My first hospital stay after my diagnosis was at age 10 and I had strep throat on top of my Glucometer malfunctioning. I was then switched from one shot of pork insulin to two shots of Humilin insulin. I did good with that til I was 31 and I ended up in the hospital yet again a year and 3 days after my dad passed away and I was put on 4 shots a day,3 of Novolog and one of Lantus at bedtime. My last hospital stay I ended up in the intensive care unit and was not told when i was there i was in renal failure. I wasnt told before i left either,but my kidneys are coming back slowly but the doctor said that was good. But recently the doctor did another ekg on me because i had more than one showing an abnormality. I was sent to a cardiologist and was told i need to have a stress thallium test done and an electrocardiogram also,but im unemployed right now with no insurance and no money and no way for the tests i need. Im praying that God will provide a way for me and im also trying to find a way for them to be done because the doctor said I may have some blockage and he wants them done to see if I’m gettingetting enough blood to my heart.
