Bret Michaels’ Life Rocks Foundation Collaborates With Team Carly Rocks Sending 15 Children To Diabetes Summer Camp
On special occasions Bret Michaels’ Life Foundation collaborates with other charitable organizations to benefit individuals, families and causes. While backstage at a recent tour stop Mitch and Carly, a father and daughter diabetic pair met fellow diabetic Bret Michaels. Bret and Mitch discussed bringing their foundations together for this instance which resulted in funding to send 15 children to diabetes summer camp at Camp Ho Mita Koda located in Ohio.
As a lifelong Type 1 juvenile diabetic since the age of 6, Bret formed his Life Rocks Foundation out of necessity and a desire to give back to children and communities. In addition, Bret’s Life Rocks Foundation also works with organizations benefiting veterans, St. Jude Children’s Hospital and many others with instant impact and real results rather than taking a knee. Bret is about really doing something about it.
Each year Bret sends children to diabetes summer camp which focuses on learning how to manage diabetes while having fun and developing new friendships. Bret remains a focal point in helping to raise diabetes awareness. “Diabetes is the reason I fought so hard to win Celebrity Apprentice” said Michaels referencing his victory on the highest rated season of the show’s existence. “Collaborating Life Rocks with Team Carly Rocks to send 15 children to camp is an awesome day.”
In addition, Michaels works closely with the American Diabetes Association and JDRF having served as keynote speaker at numerous gala events which helped to raise millions of dollars for the cause.
